Florida Atlantic University High School has officially opened its “Owls Imaging Lab.”

The “Owls Imaging Lab” will provide students access to cutting-edge equipment to work on high-level research projects, including cancer treatment research, vaccine development, and prosthetic creation, among others.

“This is a one-of-a-kind research laboratory,” said Tricia Meredith, Ph.D., director of research at A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School. “Students are able to research some of the world’s most challenging problems at an early age, can share that research and publish it in peer-reviewed journals.”

The lab includes a micro computed topography scanner; scanning electron microscope; microtone and embedding station; inverted compound microscope; and stereoscope.

Leadership from FAU, ADHUS and FAU High School were present during a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony also included special guest Gianna Caserta, WPBF 25 News anchor and ADHUS alumna, who spoke about her experience at ADHUS and how excited she is for its future.

ADHUS and FAU High School is a Title 1, K-12 public laboratory school under the auspices of the State University System of Florida as part of FAU’s College of Education.
