A.D. HENDERSON SCHOLARS PROGRAM
One of the challenges students experience lies in taking the standardized tests required as they progress through middle school, transition into high school, and onto future academic programs. Oftentimes, these standardized tests are used for course placements, school admissions purposes, and to help identify students for future academic recognition and financial scholarship opportunities. In a coordinated effort to help students maximize their potential, we will be offering an accelerated academic support program for all interested.
The program, to be held online, will offer weekly structured lessons that aim to provide students a highly accelerated academic foundation as they plan for their future high school goals. Topics to be covered include SAT preparation strategies, advanced mathematics, accelerated reading/grammar/writing, and five full practice SAT tests. Students will be expected to be highly self-regulated as they progress through the curriculum, though they will be offered weekly support Zoom meeting sessions with our Student Achievement Coordinator.
This opportunity, funded through the Javits grant, is a coordinated effort between A.D. Henderson, FAU High School, and FAU to continue to support students working towards high-achieving recognitions and future accelerated programs in high school.
