We are gearing up to get the year started and are excited to see our students and families. Hopefully, you had a chance to review the A.D. Henderson K - 8 Meet the Teacher flyer and the 9th Grade Back to School Information provided in last week’s parent welcome back letter. Please ensure you arrive at your scheduled time, so you will have the opportunity to meet your child(s) teacher, pick up their device, class schedule, and all instructional materials needed for their classes. Your child’s schedule and teacher assignment will be accessible in the Focus portal on Monday, August 10, 2020. If you cannot attend Meet the Teacher to pick up your child’s device, please use this Sign-up Genius to choose a time-slot on August 17, 2020.
To prepare your child/ren and provide you with important resources, we are hosting virtual parent information sessions using ZOOM (https://zoom.us/join) on August 11 - August 14, 2020. The virtual parent session will be K - 8th grade-specific and will consist of information and expectations to help your child succeed. During the meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet the grade-level team and ask questions. Please review the virtual parent meeting schedule here. Families of 9th graders will receive a Zoom invitation via the CANVAS orientation page. The teachers have spent this week preparing for the school year. After witnessing their dedication to professional development and collaboration, it solidifies our confidence in the teaching and learning that will occur at ADHUS/FAUHS during virtual learning. They are creating exciting lessons to ensure students are engaged and supported. Although there may be some challenges, we are committed to providing the best to the ADHUS/FAUHS community. IMPORTANT: Each student in grades K-9 will have the opportunity to pick up a device for the 2020-21 school year. Students in grades K-1 and 9th will receive pre-loaded iPads, and 2nd through 8th grades will receive Chromebooks. ALL K-8th grade parents must first sign the Student Device Agreement HERE . All students must have a device contract on file. NOTE: 9th graders have already filled out their Device Form as part of their registration to FAU High School.
Students and parents/guardians in grades 10th-12th, please see this link for the latest information from the FAU Registrar’s Office about Remote Learning Options for the Fall 2020 semester (important changes are highlighted). It is imperative that students check their FAU email and CANVAS page daily; important information is being updated often. Fall textbook pick up begins this weekend (August 8-9th) and students must go to the bookstore to pick up their materials. Safety procedures are in place and you must wear a mask at all times on campus. Please review the Fall 2020 Textbook pick up procedures.
