Mr. Chris Clevenger, FAU High School World History Teacher, is the 2024 FAU Lab School Teacher of the Year

This afternoon, Superintendent Dr. Joel Herbst announced Mr. Chris Clevenger as the 2024 FAU Lab School District Teacher of the Year. As the district Teacher of the Year, Mr. Clevenger will earn a cash prize and will be in the running to compete for the Florida Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Clevenger is an outstanding representative of our faculty. He is a dedicated teacher who exemplifies continuous growth and learning for himself and for his students. In Mr. Clevenger’s Teacher of the Year application, he stated, “I reach beyond the walls of my classroom to plan data-driven ways to strengthen academic foundations and develop critical skills. I dedicate myself to creating an abundance mindset atmosphere, where students learn to break through limitations and use resources on which they may lean.”

We are extremely proud of Mr. Clevenger and the two outstanding finalists, Ms. Krista Marin and Ms. Cara Pavek. Through the Teacher of the Year selection process, it was evident to the selection committees how fortunate we are to have such amazing talent and dedicated teachers who are at the top of their profession.
