24 FAU HIGH STUDENTS NAMED NATIONAL MERIT FINALISTS

A total of 24 Florida Atlantic University High School students have been named finalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Competition. To become a National Merit finalist, more than 1.5 million high school juniors took the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The highest-scoring entrants in each state were named semifinalists and represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors.
To become a National Merit finalist, each semifinalist submitted a detailed scholarship application, which included their academic record, extracurricular activities, leadership abilities, employment, honors and awards. They were also endorsed by a high school official, wrote an essay, and performed well on the SAT. The 2022 National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in the summer of 2022.
