Chess

Students in 3rd-5th grade will have the opportunity to learn new chess strategies and strengthen their existing chess skills through engaging games and friendly competition with their peers. This is a wonderful chance for students to build critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship skills while having fun in a supportive environment!

Debate

This club is an opportunity for students to learn about various competitive events in Speech and Debate and to practice basic public speaking skills!

Engineering

The Elementary Engineering Club is a dynamic and innovative club for those who would like to explore the world of engineering through hands-on learning. Through hands-on projects and challenges, students will develop essential skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Elementary Engineering Club empowers students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and develop a love of engineering that inspires them to reach for the stars.

Exploravision

This club is a group research opportunity for students in 2nd-9th grade. Students work online in teams of 2-4 to research a solution to a real-world problem.

This club is HYBRID with a combination of optional in-person and virtual meetings. Teams will also sign up for coaching sessions with Mrs. O'Sullivan beyond the club meetings.

Each team will enter its project in the national Exploravision Contest for a chance to win $10,000. All students who enter will get a small prize and a certificate.

MATE

Elementary School MATE Club introduces students to the exciting world of underwater robotics! Students will learn the basics of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), explore how engineers solve problems, and design and build their own ROV frames using PVC pipes. Through hands-on activities and pool testing, students will discover how their designs work underwater while developing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

National STEM Honor Society

The National STEM Honor Society recognizes and inspires students with a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. Members will explore real-world STEM challenges, develop leadership skills, and work together on hands-on projects that make a difference in our community. Joining NSTEM means gaining recognition for your achievements, building a strong foundation for future academic and career opportunities, and becoming part of a national network of innovative thinkers.  Members meet once per quarter for hands-on projects. Sign-ups for quarterly meetings will be sent separately.

 K-2nd Grade National STEM Honor Society Club Qualifications:

  • Members of the National STEM Honor Society members are required to maintain all outstanding (O) or meeting expectations (M) on all progress and reports cards.  A student that falls below these parameters will be removed from the club.  


3rd-5th Grade National STEM Honor Society Club Qualifications:

  • Members are required to maintain Honor Roll on all progress and report cards.  If a student falls below these parameters, they will be removed from the club.
  • Must be a member of one of the following clubs to meet the enrichment requirement: Chess, Elementary Engineers, Exploravision, or MATE.

Performing Arts

In our Elementary Performing Arts Club, 4th and 5th Grade students will explore and craft their talents through the many facets of the performance realms in acting, singing, and dancing in preparation for two musical productions. Students will also have the opportunity to perform and shine on the big stage, historically, at FAU's Arts and Letters University Theatre. The Performing Arts Club is for fun, performing arts, and reaching new heights as individuals! 

First Club Meeting Auditions will be held after school on Tuesday, September 1st, from 2:45 pm - 4:30 pm. 
*All students attending must have a 1-Minute, school-appropriate song or monologue prepared to audition. Thank you!

Safety Patrol

AAA School Safety Patrollers are school-sponsored student volunteers from the 5th grade. Patrollers direct children, not traffic. As school-age safety leaders, patrollers teach other students about hallway and campus safety on a peer-to-peer basis. They also serve as role models for younger children.

The AAA School Safety Patrol Program plays an important role in helping school students learn and in fostering positive collaboration among peers, parents, schools, and law enforcement. Patrollers may also serve other leadership functions under the direction of school officials and promote positive character education. The AAA School Safety Patrol program has more than 679,000 Patrollers in 35,000 U.S. schools.
