What is the FortifyFL App?
FortifyFL is an innovative app designed to empower users to report suspicious activities swiftly, relaying this information to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials. This convenient app allows for anonymous and non-anonymous reporting. Users can also include photos and videos as supporting evidence. At the beginning of the school year, our teachers provided students with instruction about the app, how to use the app appropriately, and the consequences of providing false tips through the app.
Consequences of false reporting
It is crucial to emphasize that submitting false tips in FortifyFL may lead to serious legal consequences. Per s. 943.082, Florida Statutes and following an investigation, if it is determined that a person knowingly submitted a false tip through FortifyFL, the IP address of the device will be provided to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and the reporting party may be subject to criminal penalties under s. 837.05.
